The Social Internet – Next Target for Malware

Social NetFacebook, Twitter and the many other social networking sites are getting the attention of malware makers indeed for their wide open API’s and almost opaque membership that have been attacked and even phished for personal information. Social networks are known for their being opaque to the outside world, a place where one can be anybody they choose with the right information and a few pictures grabbed from some other social photo sharing site.
The recent attacks on Twitter with several thousand users affected have their browsers, mobile and desktop-based re-directed to malicious sites that download a myriad of exploits and popup’s that at first annoys us so much then leaves us vulnerable to attack for drive-by attacks that takes personal information and can infect us more or less with more viruses. The cycle never ends and people are the weakest links for we all know what’s safe and what’s not but anyway, they still keep clickin’. The internet may never really be free from all the bad stuff we hate and fear yet there are people out there working to keep us safe, the price is well, everything that makes you, you.
